My Favorite Sandwich.

You will need: 1 granny smith apple (or the apple of your choice but the tartness of the GS is what give the sandwich it's proverbial "kick")

1 hass avocado (you don't need the WHOLE avocado or anything but you can't buy any less. 1 avocado will make a half week's worth of sandwiches)

brie. I do believe I already expressed my preference.

bread. Please don't use sliced bread unless absolutely necc. And don't use WHITE sliced bread (Wonder) under any circumstances. I'm not running a halfway house here, do not defile my favorite sandwich. I like ciabatta, but any sort of baguette or tough roll (not kaiser) will do.

Slice your bread. cut thin chunks of avocado and place them on one half of the bread so all bread is covered, now take your apple and place 1/8"-1/4" thick slices all over the over half of the bread. slice up some brie (1/4" thick or so) and layer that all over the apple or avocado side (your pick!) and carefully place sandwich halves together. enjoy. Oh! And my mom likes to augment this recipe with a little vinaigrette (raspberry is nice) but in general I think this robs the sandwich of all it's subtlety.* Thank you.

I have a favorite sandwich and you should too. But if for some reason you do not have a favorite sandwich, you can have mine. My favorite that is, not my actual sandwich, because then what am *I* going to eat? Some fine restaurants even put such a sandwich on a menu so you don't have to make it yourself. But if you are going to get serious about this sandwich, you're going to wanna come correct with the ingredients. I assume you already know how to choose an avocado, and I suggest French and not Canadian brie, but that's me. They don't take too long to make and involve no heating. Just like that Australian lady's waxing product she created for her hairy daughter. Nads!

*The aforementioned subtlety of this sandwich explained: What we have here people is a microcosm of taste sensations. The avocado provides the creamy mellowness, the brie, while also creamy provides a) a dairy component and b) a pungent, distinct punch. The apple provides the crunchy aspect, a tang(!) and makes a lovely ambassador for the fruit and vegetable kingdom. The bread of course provides both a vehicle to deliver said ingredients and also a slightly tough bready surface to gnaw on like a dog.
